Now onto the Work in Progress Announcement: I’m so excited about this book. I haven’t been this excited about writing in a while, so I can’t wait to get more done and share some additional details with you all! For now, what I can tell you is that this book will focus on our main character, Jules Parker. Jules is a 24-year-old in her final year of a Master’s Program. She has an internship at Falcone Industries, the number one pharmaceutical company in the U.S. She hopes to become a Research Scientist, with a focus in Genetic Research.  It’s a paranormal romance, so you know things aren’t going to go smoothly for Jules for very long. She’ll get going on quite an adventure and we will get to meet some of her good friends, and some sexy new additions to her life along the way! This book does not have a title right now, but I’ll be sure to update you as soon as things get further along! The book will focus on vampires and vampire hunters! I can’t WAIT to share more!! Any thoughts so far???

That’s about all from me for now! Have a great rest of your week, and hopefully I’ll chat with some of you during Laura Lee’s Release Party on Facebook this Friday!

Book 2 Title Reveal

Hi friends!

So we didn’t quite reach our goal of 10 new followers and 850 Facebook fans, but you know what? I still can’t keep it in! Drum Roll please …*insert drumming noise here* … the title for Book 2 in the Ariya Adams Trilogy is:

Yep, Awakened. Oh, I can’t wait for you all to read it. I have had more fun with Book 2 than I did with Book 1. Now, I did promise a teaser, too, if we reached the goal. Again, can’t hold it in. But instead of a new one (well for some it will be new) I’m going to post a teaser that I gave to the wonderful Bridgette ( in an author interview previously. Please note this version has not been through final edits. Enjoy!

I barely turned the knob on the front door when Caroline froze. Her head jerked to the side. “Get inside the house.” She hesitated only a moment longer before turning and pushing me through the door. She locked it behind her and whipped her cell phone out.

“Damn it,” she said under her breath as she shoved her phone into her back pocket.

“What’s wrong?” My heartbeat steadily started increasing. Caroline seemed concerned and James and Nick were still out there somewhere.

She didn’t answer me but turned towards the large windows in the family room. She looked around for a moment longer before shoving me to a bedroom adjacent to James’ “Get to that room, now. Lock the door and do not come out.”

“What? No, come with me. What’s going on?”

“Ariya, go. Please don’t argue. I’m fine, but I can’t worry about you if I’m going to handle this shit.”

“What do you mean handle this? I’m not leaving you,” I walked closer to her as I spoke.

“You will cause me to be distracted and that will put me in danger. Do you understand?” Her voice startled me and I turned heading for the room I hadn’t been in yet. I peeked back over at her as I got to the door. A noise at the front of the house made me jump.

“Now,” Caroline whispered urgently. She stood as if she was ready to pounce on something. “Not a word, Ariya, I mean it. And shut the door.”

Before I obeyed and shut the door, I heard a terrifying sound. It sounded like nails scraping down glass. Caroline’s body jerked from the front door over to the living room windows as a voice sounded from somewhere outside.

“Come out, come out wherever you are.” I heard. Frightened by the malice of the voice, I quickly shut the door I was hidden behind and locked it as instructed.

Caroline is fine, she’s a vampire. Whatever that is, she can handle it.

I tried convincing myself of her safety, but I was frightened. I could feel terror welling in my gut, creeping up into my chest and causing my breathing to become erratic.

Outside the door, I heard glass shatter followed by a snarl. Oh please, please let Care be okay, I prayed silently.

Noises outside the door increased. I could hear banging, growling, and tearing. I didn’t want to know what the tearing was. I was caught between wanting to do something to help and the words Caroline said to me about her being in more danger if I didn’t stay put. It sounded like a warzone outside the door, it couldn’t be good. Where were James and Nick?

Hope you liked it! So, what do you think of the title, Awakened???

Final Teaser before Protected is RELEASED!

Hi friends!

Don’t forget that there will be an online release party on my author page ( Be online at 8:00 pm EST on Tuesday, June 25th and join me. Just like a post I put up during the release party or comment and your name will be entered into drawings for some giveaways. I also mentioned earlier that I would do one final teaser for you to get you excited. I hope this does the trick. My Mom read the book and won’t stop telling me that she is “Team Riley.” I don’t know if you’ll be on a “team” or not when you read this but I haven’t really done a Riley teaser so…here you go!

“I’m stealing your date for a minute.” Riley smiled over at James, who just nodded. “Ariya, you have to stop looking so good all the time. You really make it hard on a guy.”

He winked at me. His bad mood from earlier today seemed to have vanished completely, for which I was grateful. Caroline was right, it must have been stress from getting everything for the party together.

“How much have you had to drink already, Bullwinkle?” I shoved out of his arms.

“Can’t I give you a compliment without you thinking I’m drunk?”

“No,” I laughed. “I have to get back to my date, you know, the one you actually approve of.”

“I don’t know if I approve of breaking and entering. He’d better be careful with you.”

He stopped and took my chin in his hand, as if inspecting me. Then he turned my cheek, while still holding my chin, and gave me a peck. Whoa, stomach drop. What on earth was that about and what was wrong with me to react like that?

Hope to hear from you all Tuesday!! 🙂

Another Teaser to say Thank You for the Support!!!

I can’t say thank you enough for all of the support you all have given me.  I continue to meet so many wonderful authors, readers, and friends.  In honor of you, here is another teaser 🙂

Please Note: Final editing has not been done on the following work.

“Ariya,” he whispered as he brought his head down to mine.

I closed my eyes. What were we doing? He didn’t want to be with me but now, here like this, I didn’t want to stop him.

“Please,” I said back.  It was hard for me even to tell if I meant please stop or please don’t stop, but he took it to mean the latter.

He brought his lips to mine and fire burst from deep within me. What was he doing to me? How was it possible to have these feelings for someone? I parted my lips slightly and it was encouragement for him. He pressed his tongue into my mouth and I exploded all over again.

We were moving and suddenly, my back was against a tree. We were off the path at this point. His hand tugged at my ponytail breaking the band that had been holding it and he buried his fingers into my hair. Oh, this was heaven.

James’ hand ran up my leg jerking it around him as he shifted his body underneath me. He held me there, pinned to the tree. I obeyed the movement of his hands and wrapped my legs harder around his waist, locking them behind his back. His whole body pressed into mine as his mouth relentlessly ravished mine.

I had to pull back. I would drown in my feelings for him, especially if this wasn’t going to continue towards anything. I pulled my mouth away. The break in our connection felt painful but necessary. I couldn’t keep going in the direction this was headed right now.

James Rymer…Teaser #2

I can’t hold it in any longer! I think it’s time to give you all a sneak peek at James Rymer, the mysterious and sexy male lead of Protected.

I saw Riley coming towards us.

“Ariya! I’ve been looking for you. I wanted you to meet a friend of mine, James Rymer. He just joined the hockey team and I told him he had to meet our cheerleaders.”

I made a face at him for the cheerleader comment before turning to see who I was being introduced to.

If I thought Caroline and Ashley had handsome men on their arms, I couldn’t even think of a word to describe James. His light brown hair fell in his face ever so slightly and beautiful light blue eyes with darker spots scattered throughout them looked back at me. I’d never seen eyes like his before. His skin was flawless and his jaw defined. He was taller than me by a good bit; I am 5’8” but had to tilt my head back slightly to see all of him. He had to be over 6 feet tall.

James was wearing a black shirt that hugged his chest and I could tell he wasn’t overly buff, but he was defined, broad-shouldered and solid. My breath caught for a minute and I tried to recover swiftly.

I reached out my hand, “Ariya Adams.”

He smiled out of the side of his mouth and just said, “James.”

His voice was low and strong. It’s the kind of voice I imagine women think a man has when fantasizing about being whisked away by the guy off the cover of a romance novel. I tried to think of something clever to say but my brain was just fogged.

What was wrong with me? I never acted like this.

Would James make you speechless too? Hope you enjoyed meeting him 🙂
